Radio Balloon Man

I shot a really fun assignment today.  WFMU radio out of Jersey City, NJ is a publicly funded radio station without any ad revenue.  They rely on crazy fundraisers like this one to get by.  They raised just over $90,000 dollars within a couple hours.  They had people pledging and donating money to either add a balloon or add a cinderblock to the stations manager, Ken Freedman’s lawn chair.  Every time they would reach $1000 dollars, they would add either a small balloon, a weather balloon, or a cinderblock to Ken’s chair.  It was windy which made things interesting.  Although their ultimate goal was $180,000, they did much better then anyone had anticipated.
