Go on, Down the Road.

September 21, 2012 — 3 Comments

The first week back at school I took a drive around the backroads which is something I do to relieve stress and just get to know where I am living better. I ended up on Athens County Road 1 which is about 6 miles long with about a dozen different businesses, open forest patches and homes. I began to think about all the different types of people, businesses and landscapes that one can encounter on one single road. This has lead to a new project that I will be working on throughout the course of this year. My goal is to explore the road and see how diverse it really is. Although the people may not be connected to one another socially, they are all connected by the bending pavement that rolls through the hills. This is a post for introduction. I have only met one family so far, Stacy and Tommy Blackford who live in the top half of an old barn and some of the most generous people I have met in a long time. The little girl is their granddaughter. Thanks for looking.

This is an awesome set, Ian. I enjoyed all of these photographs, especially the last one. They are easy to connect with.
I’m looking forward to seeing more!
