In Between Home.

There are certain photographic journeys I dream of but don’t think will ever come true.  They take time, money and patience but are rewarding. Driving has become a way for me to slow down and relax. There are so many interesting and beautiful things that accompany the rigid, peppery asphalt that we use to transport from one place to the next. They bring visitors, commerce and everything in between. They allow us to see.

When I was given the opportunity to intern in Dallas, Texas I decided to take the long road and to make my drive longer and a bit off the path. I gave myself a week to make it from New Jersey to Texas which allowed me to stay off the highways and explore what I dream about.  With a Mamiya 7 in hand borrowed from my great friend, Meg Roussos, I looked to let myself be curious. Stopping, sometimes violently, whenever something caught my interest. I shot 5 rolls of film to narrate my trip. These are the pictures that resonate with me, the pictures that allowed me to slow down and touch on some of those wandering dreams. Thanks for looking.

The pictures are ordered chronologically from when they were made.
